They are committed to ensuring transparency and have arrested and prosecuted some individuals involved in fraudulent acts. They urge individuals to report any suspicious or fraudulent activity involving police officers to the NPF and the Force Public Relations Officer or the Complaint Response Unit (CRU) desk.

Human rights activist Israel Joe, who wrote the petition regarding the extortion by the Rivers State Command, responded by stating that he welcomes any investigation but is surprised that the focus appears to be on issues that gave rise to the extortion rather than the extortion itself. He expresses his determination to continue pushing for justice and emphasizes the importance of an open and fair investigation. Joe raises concerns about trusting the police to conduct a fair trial in this matter.
