Forget 2023 General Election – IPOB tell Nigerians
On Friday, members of the Indigenous People of Biafra demonstrated in Aba, Abia State, against the federal government’s reluctance to free their leader, Nnamdi Kanu.
This online newspaper reports that the demonstrators have stated that, if IPOB’s leader is not freed and Biafra is not recognized, they will not permit the South East to have elections in 2023.

They admonished Nigeria to skip the South East elections in 2023 “if our leader, Nnamdi Kanu, is still in DSS custody.”
Security agencies kept watch over and supervised the non-violent, non-violent protest that took place in the Abia South local government areas.
The demonstrators issued a warning that unless their leader was released from custody, they would be compelled to shut down not only the state’s and the South East’s economies, but also the entire nation.
“Some of the judges requested that they return our leader to Kenya, where he had been unlawfully kidnapped.
Continuing to hold Nnamdi Kanu in custody, the demonstrators stated, “is part of our renewed warning signal to the federal government that they should forget 2023 elections in the southeast.”
The demonstrators carried signs that read, among other things, “Give us the state of Biafra immediately,” “There will be no election in Igbo land in 2023,” and “What we need is a referendum for Biafra.” They also chanted songs of unity.

Residents were cautioned by the demonstrators not to venture into the city on Monday since next week’s sit-at-home demonstration will be closely observed.
In the meantime, Kanu’s family in Isiama Afaraukwu, Umuahia, has expressed their concern that the gang may stage a more ferocious demonstration in the coming days.
This worry was stated early on Saturday morning by Kanu’s younger brother, Emma Kanu, who said, “There might be more protestors coming out and it might be more enormous this time.
“They are merely asserting that the current administration must abide with the court’s ruling.
“It is really that easy. You are required to abide by the laws you created.
