Hamburg shooting: 8 killed as gunman attack Jehovah Witness church in Germany
On Thursday evening, a fatal shooting occurred at a Jehovah’s Witnesses Kingdom Hall in Hamburg, Germany.
Ejes Gist News Nigeria reports that eight people were killed and eight others were injured in the attack.
According to the police, the attacker acted alone, but his motivation remains unknown.
They also reported discovering a deceased individual at the scene of the attack, who they believe may have been the perpetrator.
“The officers also heard a gunshot from the upper portion of the building and proceeded to the upper level, where they discovered a second person.
“At this time, there are no indications that any perpetrators have fled,” said police spokesperson Holger Vehren.
On Friday morning, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz referred to the shooting as a “brutal act of violence” and stated that he was thinking of the victims and their families.
In a statement, the Jehovah’s Witness community in Germany said it was “deeply saddened by the horrific attack on its members following a religious service at the Kingdom Hall in Hamburg.”
