Background:
The results of the election were announced on March 11. The incumbent governor Fintiri received 421,524 votes, while Binani, his main opponent, received 390,275.
With a margin of victory over Binani of over 30,000 votes, Fintiri won. Additionally, the governor won in 13 of Adamawa’s 21 local government districts, with Binani taking home the victory in the other eight.

Prof. Mohammed Mele, the state’s collation officer, however, announced the cancellation of the elections in 69 polling places in the Fufore LGA, which had no less than 37,016 PVCs in those places.
Despite the fact that the final results showed that Fintiri received the most votes, INEC claimed that the number of votes that were cancelled out exceeded the difference in votes between him and the runner-up, Binani.
As a result, it declared the governor’s race in Adamawa State to be inconclusive.
On Saturday’s election, the 37,016 potential voters in Fufore were supposed to decide whether Fintiri and Binani would win or lose.
Results from the 11 LGAs that participated in the supplementary voting on April 15 showed that Fintiri received 5,282 votes while Binani received 3,692.
