The tournament, held in Egypt, culminated in a thrilling final where Algeria defeated Senegal 1-0 to secure their first AFCON victory in 29 years.
Ighalo’s moment of glory came earlier in the competition when he netted the winner for the Super Eagles in a match against Tunisia, securing the bronze medal for Nigeria with a 1-0 victory. This crucial goal marked his fifth of the tournament, solidifying his status as the tournament’s leading scorer.
