The CBN Governor stated that he is currently abroad on business in a letter that was written by the Deputy Governor of Corporate Services, Edward Adamu.

He promised to get in touch with the House at a suitable time.
“Unfortunately, due to other scheduled official engagements that he is currently attending abroad, the governor is unable to brief the House of Representatives at this time.
As a result, he has asked that we each let you know that he will be unable to accept this invitation on the new date.

The letter stated, in part, “The governor regrets this and will get in touch with the House of Representatives as soon as he returns to the country from his official assignment.”
It should be recalled that the lawmakers twice delayed the briefing because Mr. Emefiele was out of the country.
The House Speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila, responded to the letter by stating that the CBN governor must inform the House of his justification for travelling abroad for two weeks.
