An unspecified number of Joint Security Task Force special hunters were killed by an airstrike in Galadima Kogo, Shiroro Local Government Area, Niger State, causing chaos and confusion in the area.
As of the time this report was filed, the origin of the helicopter that conducted the airstrike remains unknown.
The number of casualties, including the special hunters are unknown as efforts are still being made to ascertain the damage.

The Special Hunters had a base of operations in Galadima Kogo.
The explosion occurred as the All Progressives Congress (APC) launched its senatorial campaign in Niger East in Suleja, where the majority of government officials were present.
Commissioner of Internal Security Emmanuel Umar and the Niger Police Command were unable to be reached for comment on the incident.

The Commissioner stated that he was unable to speak due to an emergency, but that a statement would be issued shortly.
