Ondo Governor Aiyedatiwa Appoints Key Officials Following Akeredolu’s Passing
In the aftermath of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu’s demise, newly sworn-in Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa wasted no time in making key appointments.

In addition to these developments, the governor declared a three-day mourning period, commencing on Thursday, December 28, with flags flying at half-mast as a tribute to the late Governor Akeredolu.
Furthermore, Richard Olatunde, the former CPS to Akeredolu, resigned from his position, citing the untimely death of his principal as the reason for his decision.

- Chief Press Secretary (CPS): Ebenezer Adeniyan
- Special Assistant on Political Matters: Smart Omodunbi Jnr
- Special Assistant on New Media: Abire Sunday Olugbenga
- Special Assistant on Photography: Miss Motunrayo Oyedele
- Special Assistant on Domestic and Government House: Dr. Temitayo Iperepolu
Governors from across Nigeria, including Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos and Uba Sani of Kaduna, expressed their condolences over Akeredolu’s passing.
In a related note, Prophet Ifetayo Afinjuomo of the Dominion Faith Church in Ore, Ondo, shared a prophecy on Facebook, predicting that a politician from Ile Oluji/Okeigbo local government area would emerge victorious in the 2024 Ondo state governorship election.
