Rotimi Amaechi, a former transportation minister and senior member of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), has refuted rumours that he will soon declare his support for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the upcoming 2023 elections.
Umar Sani, a former senior special adviser on media and publicity to vice president Namadi Sambo, revealed that the former governor of Rivers State reportedly stated that as a devout Catholic, he cannot support the APC’s Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket.

“I am happy to report that PDP has won the state of Rivers thanks to Amaechi, who declared that he is a Catholic and will not support a Muslim-Muslim ticket. He is going to back the PDP.
Sani had remarked, “If there is anyone who can match Wike madness for madness, boxing for boxing, it is Amaechi.”

Amaechi responded to that assertion by denying it and calling him a complete lie.
