Buhari Bags Peace, Security Award
This online newspaper reports that President Muhammadu Buhari is set to receive an award from the Abu Dhabi Foundation for his outstanding efforts in fostering peace and harmonious coexistence among people of different religious beliefs.
Ejesgist.ng has learned that Sheikh Al-Mahfoudh Bin Bayyah, the secretary general of the Abu Dhabi Forum, and Pastor Bob Roberts, his deputy, paid the Nigerian President a courtesy visit on Tuesday while he was in Washington, United States of America (USA).

The prominent individuals stated in their remarks during the courtesy visit that they had come to inform the Nigerian leader and to invite him to attend the presentation of the award to him.
They claimed Buhari was deserving of the honour due to his outstanding contributions to the cause of peace and security.
According to Bin Bayyah, the foundation’s efforts to combat religious extremism and promote mutual respect and dialogue among all religions were in line with the award’s presentation. The news of the development was revealed in a statement issued on Tuesday by Malam Garba Shehu, Buhari’s press secretary.
Shehu quoted President Buhari as saying that the world needed the foundation’s work to promote interfaith dialogue just as much as Nigeria did.

He asserted that Nigeria’s youth represent the nation’s hope for a better future and that the government’s top priority should be to address their issues.
The president also urged the group to keep focusing on the young people who hold the promise of the future in order to raise generations of youth free from religious extremism and bigotry.
