Governor Sanwo-Olu Rewards Aminat Yusuf with ₦10 Million for Exceptional Academic Achievement at LASU’s 26th Convocation Ceremony”
During the 26th convocation ceremony held at the Ojo-Iyana Iba area of Lagos State, Governor Sanwo-Olu presented Aminat Yusuf with a remarkable CGPA of 5.0 with a reward of ₦10 million.

The governor generously donated ₦5 million personally, while the Lagos State government contributed an additional ₦5 million to acknowledge Yusuf’s outstanding accomplishment, which broke a 40-year-old record at LASU.
Aminat Yusuf, a student in the Faculty of Law at LASU, emerged as the top graduating student for the 2021/2022 academic session. Her exceptional academic performance garnered attention not only from the governor but also from the traditional ruler of IBA, Oniba of Iba Kingdom, Oba Sulaimon Adeshina Raji. Oba Raji presented her with ₦2 million and pledged to fully sponsor her through Law School.

Professor Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, the Vice Chancellor of LASU, previously announced a cash prize of ₦500,000 for Yusuf in recognition of her outstanding performance. Mrs. Olatunji-Bello also highlighted that the university would be graduating 10,183 students, with 282 students achieving First Class honors in various fields.
Additionally, it is worth noting that while Aminat Yusuf topped the list of first-class graduates for the 2021/2022 academic session, Feyisayo Lopez from the Department of Physiology, College of Medicine, emerged as the best performer for the 2020/2021 session with a CGPA of 4.91.
