Anambra govt vows to flush income thieves

The Anambra State authorities has reiterated its readiness to flush out income thieves within the state.

The Chairman, Anambra State Internal Revenue Service, Dr. David Nzekwu mentioned the company would prosecute individuals impersonating the state authorities in tax enforcement throughout the state.

He frowned on the actions of the impersonators, saying that they value the federal government thousands and thousands of naira each month.

“We frown on the unlawful actions of some miscreants who pose as authorities officers in some strategic locations within the state to defraud harmless residents of their hard-earned cash.

“We warn that anybody caught within the act henceforth, won’t go unpunished. The company’s enforcement group will now be shifting across the state to arrest individuals indulging in such prison acts.

“It is the duty of the state Internal Revenue Service to implement Anambra state taxation legal guidelines. Only approved officers of the Internal Revenue Service are allowed to implement taxation within the state.

“We are warning defaulters to stop as we will arrest and prosecute them if they continue.”

He acknowledged all funds needs to be made on to the state’s purse, saying that folks can confirm the authenticity of their letter of authorization by scanning it with QR scanner.
