Liverpool’s Andrew Robertson is maintaining a cautious approach to his return date after undergoing successful surgery on a shoulder injury sustained during a collision with Unai Simon in Scotland’s match against Spain last October.

The full-back, who dislocated his shoulder, acknowledged that he is “progressing well” but refrained from setting a specific return timeframe.

Having missed significant playing time due to the surgery, Robertson expressed satisfaction with the success of the procedure and highlighted a smooth recovery process.

Despite Scotland securing a spot in Euro 2024 alongside Spain, Andrew Robertson remained on the sidelines, watching their final Group A game against Norway, which ended in a 3-3 draw.

Andrew Robertson Provides Update On Injury

“Yeah, getting there, slowly but surely. Surgery was a success, which was the main thing, no complications from it. So far, so good. I think I’m about three weeks since my surgery now, so everything is progressing well. Just bit by bit, got to take it week by week.

“Everything has gone well up to this point and hopefully that continues and then hopefully before we know it I’ll be back on the grass.

“I’ve not looked that far ahead yet [to a possible return date]. I’m just trying to take it week by week. I’m trying to not get frustrated, I’m not the best [when] injured. I’m trying to just take small wins every single week.

“I don’t want to put a game in mind and then I don’t make it or I come back before then. I’m just taking it slowly but surely just now, and then there’ll be a time to start pushing it – and when that comes, I’ll try to get on the pitch as quickly as I can.”

He emphasized the importance of taking the recovery week by week, avoiding setting specific return dates to prevent potential setbacks.

Liverpool’s Jurgen Klopp has entrusted Kostas Tsimikas as the left-back in Robertson’s absence. The Greek international, who recently extended his contract with Liverpool, has performed admirably, contributing two assists in a standout performance against Brentford before the November internationals.

As Robertson focuses on his recovery, Klopp has a reliable option in Tsimikas to maintain defensive stability.
