The commissioner of education for Bauchi, Dr. Aliyu Tilde, has left the State Executive Council.
Tilde, who announced his resignation on his verified Facebook page, claimed he had sent Governor Bala Mohammed a letter of resignation asking for permission to respond to a call from a friend who urgently needed his help.

According to reports, Tilde is the fifth high-ranking official to resign from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)-led government in the State in the past three months.
Alhaji Abubakar Kari, the former chief of staff of the Bauchi Government House, Alhaji Nura Manu Soro, the former commissioner of finance, Alhaji Shitu Zaki, the special adviser on political matters, and Hon. Mohammed Al-Hassan Sadiq, the commissioner for commerce and industries, was among the others to have resigned.

Tilde was appointed Commissioner in 2019 and kept his job despite a cabinet shuffle that took place about a year earlier.
