APC and Their Judicial Bandits Must Beware of Delta State

It seems that as a Nigerian, one cannot completely avoid commenting on the affairs of the nation, no matter how determined you are to watch events from the sidelines or from the back row. Perhaps, that is a price for being intimately connected to the theatre of absurdities.

It appears that the All Progressive Congress is determined to scuttle our electoral process, relegate our democratic values, corrupt the judiciary, and make Nigeria a laughing stock within the comity of nations.

Challenges to Democracy

The recent annulment of the electoral victory of the Governor of Kano state and the verdict of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal, which dismissed the petitions of the presidential candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party, Abubakar Atiku, and Labour Party Peter Obi, challenging the declaration of Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress, APC, as the winner of the February 25 presidential poll and upheld the election of President Bola Tinubu, is not only insulting to the sensibilities of Nigerians but also a slap to our justice system.

It is even more laughable that these court jesters in the opposition have suddenly found their voice in the belief that Delta State will be handed over to them through the courts.

Call to Resist

The Holy Bible, for example, enjoins us to “resist evil” in the same way that Jehu resisted Jezebel, Moses resisted Pharaoh, David resisted Goliath, Peter resisted Herod, and Paul resisted the Romans.

It is time to stand up and speak truth to power.

Historical Analogies

Drawing analogies from history, if not for Nelson Mandela and the gallant and heroic struggle, resistance, and open rebellion of the ANC and its armed wing, Umkhonto we Sizwe (meaning “Spear of the Nation”), would South Africa have been rid of white minority rule today? Would the cruel and inhuman system of apartheid still be in place?

If a so-called leader degrades you to the point of being regarded and treated as nothing but a worthless animal, dashes all your aspirations, controls your essence and very being, and takes everything away from you, including your future and those of your loved ones, is it not logical and indeed mandatory for you to rise up in resistance, fight for your rights and, if necessary, break every state-imposed rule in the book, in order to restore your God-given self-respect, self-esteem, dignity, freedom, and fundamental rights?

Caution and Hope

The signals from these aforementioned states and cases are not good for the advancement of Democracy in Nigeria. Unless the ruling Party (APC) exercises restraint, reflects sobriety, and changes course quickly, our nation will soon find itself in a cataclysmic and monumental struggle between the forces of light and the forces of darkness, the likes of which have never been seen before in the history of our Democratic process.

Let me remind us succinctly, those that kindle fire shall be consumed by it. Those that invoke the spirit of war shall be destroyed by it.

Those that wish to truncate our democracy shall be crushed by it. And those that seek peace, unity, justice, progress, and fair play shall find it.

The people have spoken. God has approved it.

Appeal for Fairness

The desperation by the APC through the courts to turn Nigeria into a one-party state, and as a consequence of their subterranean manipulations, byzantine conspiracies, unhinged vituperations, and unbridled desperation, things are getting very hot, pushing us towards an Armageddon-like meltdown and the road to Kigali.

However, it is worthy to note that God alone gives power. I am also confident that, despite the propaganda of the opposition, we are confident of victory.

They and all other stakeholders can be rest assured that we will accept nothing less than the judgement of the announcement of an election result that is truthful and that reflects the true will of the Nigerian people.

I counsel the ruling Party (APC) not to wake up our sleeping sword lightly.

It is time to save our beautiful nation Nigeria from the evil that stalks the land and from the enemy that resides within.

May God deliver them from their treacherous disposition, and may He reject their unholy contemplations in Jesus’ name.

Whether you like it or not, Rt Hon Sheriff Francis Oborevwori is your Governor till 2031.

My name is Sanco Ese. I am God’s Pen of Intervention.
