APC Chieftain Kingsley Wali Accuses Tinubu of Fueling Rivers Crisis.

In a startling revelation, Kingsley Wali, a prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, has pointed fingers at President Bola Tinubu, holding him responsible for the ongoing political turmoil in the state.

In an exclusive interview with Punch, Wali asserted that Tinubu’s alleged feud with the party’s state leader, former governor Rotimi Amaechi, was the catalyst for the destructive crisis.

Wali went on to claim that President Tinubu, driven by personal disagreements, has actively contributed to the dismantling of the APC in Rivers State.

This, he argues, stems from Amaechi’s reported alignment with Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the 2023 election, against Tinubu during the APC presidential primary where Amaechi secured the second position.

The APC chieftain contended that despite the President’s formal meetings with Governor Sim Fubara and Nyesom Wike, the political impasse persists, rendering those discussions futile.

Wali delved into the grim toll the crisis has taken, highlighting the sacrifices made by individuals who lost their lives defending the cause of the APC in Rivers State. He recounted a tragic incident in Omok where an entire family, including the father, wife, and children, faced execution. Wali emphasized that President Tinubu’s actions amounted to disrespecting the graves of those who had given their lives for the party in the state.

Reflecting on the current state of the Rivers State APC, Wali revealed that “PDP refugees” have seized control since the appointment of Nyesom Wike as the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) minister. The infusion of political figures from the opposition party has added another layer of complexity to the already turbulent political landscape in the state.

As the allegations and blame game continue, the residents of Rivers State are left grappling with the repercussions of a political crisis that shows no signs of abating. The intricacies of the power struggle within the APC raise concerns about the future of the party in the state and the broader implications for the political climate in Nigeria.
