Shettima stated that the votes from the North would be split among the presidential candidates of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu, the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, and the New Nigeria Peoples Party, Rabiu Kwankwaso.
Shettima told Newsmen that Obi’s supporters have not done enough in the North to win votes.
According to Shettima, the Northern vote would be split between Tinubu, Atiku, and Kwankwaso. Peter Obi will receive little or nothing in the North; this is not because he is an Igbo man, but rather due to the other circumstances involved.

“Not because he lacks the ability, but because his lieutenants have not done enough work in the north,” he remarked.
Shettima also emphasised that the 2023 elections will take place, and he warned that any attempt to subvert the elections will be rejected.
According to him, the electoral authority has not publicly stated that they are unable to conduct elections; even after the tragedy in Ogun State, they stated that polls must proceed.
“All they desire is the backing of Nigerians, security, and for the government to provide a suitable environment. Under Mahmood’s leadership, I am confident that the elections will be held.
