Asari Dokubo Reacts to Reports of Ex-Niger Delta Militant Leaders’ Bar from Presidential Villa.
Former militant leader Asari Dokubo has responded to reports claiming that President Bola Tinubu has prohibited visits by ex-Niger Delta militant leaders to the presidential villa in Abuja.
Recent reports indicated that requests for courtesy visits by notable militant leaders and ethnic militias from the oil-rich region to Tinubu in the villa were disapproved by the presidency. This decision came after the visit of Alhaji Mujarhedeen Asari-Dokubo, leader of the defunct Niger Delta Peoples Volunteer Force (NDPVF), on June 16.

It is said that the president was troubled by Asari Dokubo’s public statements and actions following his visit to the presidential villa.
In response to this development, Asari Dokubo shared a video online, asserting that his relationship with President Tinubu extends beyond politics. He emphasized that he had gone out of his way to support Tinubu during election campaigns, despite not having visited his home for over 13 years.
Dokubo explained that the ban on ex-militants visiting the presidential villa holds no significance for him, as he had already chosen not to visit either the presidential villa or Tinubu’s residence long ago.
He clarified that he visited Aso Rock a few months ago due to the persuasion of some individuals. He further expressed his sincere desire to see President Tinubu succeed in his administration.
Asari Dokubo also noted that his recent visit to Tinubu at the Presidential Villa is not an isolated incident, as he has been visiting the seat of power for a considerable period.
