Trouble For Atiku As Support Group Dumps Him, Endorses Peter Obi
Atiku’s supporters have backed Peter Obi.
This online newspaper states that a group backing Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, called Youths for Atiku Political Group (YOFA) has endorsed a different candidate.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, YOFA stated it had decided to support Obi, the presidential candidate for the Labour Party (LP), and that as a result, its name had been changed to Youths for Peter Obi (YOPO).

The group claimed in its statement that Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed and the LP flag bearer both possess the qualities of being “young, diverse, competent, energetic, and kind-hearted.”
The pair, according to YOPO, have what it takes to effectively address Nigeria’s current problems and challenges.

The organisation declared that Mr. Obi, 61, the Labour Party candidate, “is and remains our endorsed candidate and will enjoy the free online and offline support of this structure.”
Iyorchia Ayu’s removal as national chairman would have an impact on other posts as well as the party’s chances in the election, according to the Plateau for Atiku Movement, a group that supports PDP presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar.

They claimed that G5 Group members’ recent words and actions had led to the endorsement of candidates outside the party.
The group’s chairman, Istifanus Mwansat, believed that Ayu’s dismissal might harm PDP’s prospects of winning the election.
