Disquiet in Delta as Okowa’s aides, Michael Akpobire resign
The conversation about political developments in Delta State ahead of the 2023 election has resumed following the resignation of Michael Akpobire, an assistant to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.
Okowa’s status as the People’s Democratic Party’s vice presidential candidate fuels the discussion (PDP). The flagbearer is Atiku Abubakar.

Akpobire wrote the Secretary to the State Government in a letter dated January 5, 2022. (SSG).
He served as Okowa’s executive assistant for technical education and the board’s chairman.
Akpobire, a PDP leader in Enwhe/Okpolo Ward 9 of the Isoko South Local Government Area, previously served as president of the students’ union at Delta State University (DELSU).

In response, Festus Tony, a Facebook user from Isoko, Urhobo, Kwale, Ijaw, and Iteskiri, urged “all sons and daughters” from those communities to resign from the cabinet.
The ship will capsize before the month’s end (January). Who else won’t experience the same humiliation if Comrade Michael Akpobire, the first son of Governor Okowa, can be treated poorly?
“Michael suffered for this administration even though we all believed Okowa wouldn’t pass,” someone once said. They gave him an office that is inaccessible to even a million naira in funding.
