In a brazen attack, yet-to-be-identified bandits have reportedly assaulted a Mobile Police (Mopol) base located in Garagi, Yartsamiyar Jino Village, Kankara Local Government Area of Katsina State. The assailants killed four police officers and two other individuals during the incident.
According to *Daily Trust*, the attack, which occurred in the early hours of the day, left one police officer injured. Local residents confirmed that the bandits also made away with rifles belonging to the officers.

A resident described the scene, stating that the bandits wreaked havoc by burning down classrooms at Tsamiyar Jino Primary School, which had been serving as a temporary camp for security forces. The school had been repurposed as a base for operatives stationed in the area to tackle growing insecurity.

This latest attack adds to the rising insecurity in Katsina State, which has been plagued by banditry and violent attacks in recent years. Authorities have yet to release an official statement, but security reinforcements are expected to be deployed to the area as investigations continue.
