Ufuoma Bernard, a self-described “Bishop of Godism” from the Niger Delta, has reported receiving death threats after sharing information about the divorce of well-known Pentecostal pastor Ayo Oritsejafor and his wife Helen.

Pastor Oritsejafor and Helen divorced after 25 years of marriage, according to an earlier report on Wednesday on ejesgist.ng. The long-running and vehement misunderstanding was the root of the broken union.

Bernard said he has already been harassed and threatened by Oritsejafor supporters after his revelation went viral.

Here is his complete update:

Ayo’s Story

I am astonished, to put it mildly, that a post I made about the marital conflict between renowned cleric Papa Ayo Oritsejafor and his wife Helen went viral. I was quoted by a lot of other blogs.

Please allow me to state this clearly:

1. The story’s details have been in the public domain for several months, and Warri has been abuzz with the unfolding events.

2. I have the utmost respect for Papa Ayo Oritsejafor and feel for him during these trying times. Divorce and separation are traumatic events. I have gone through it twice, and I do not want it to happen to my adversary.

3. I did not write the post to promote the couple or to catch a cruise. It is a news story, and all I wanted to do was inform.

4. Discreetly, I was contacted by close friends who attend the Word of Life Bible Church to express their concern regarding the update.

5. On the post, some naughty individuals who identify as Word of Life Bible Church attendees became unnecessarily agitated and combative and swore in the name of Jesus that I would not live to see the new year.

6. I received some anonymous threats to my life last night. I am curious as to why Christians would consider using violence as a form of dispute resolution.

7. If the claim is contested, the divorcing couple may plan a joint press conference to refute it or their media office may release a statement refuting it.

8. If you believe a Facebook post defames you, you can turn to law enforcement or the legal system. You are not allowed to impose your own laws.

9. Well-known pastors who went through divorce and found new love include Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, Brother Joshua Iginla, Pastor Chris Okotie, and Bishop Duncan. Their ministries continue to grow. Despite this setback, Papa Ayo Oritsejafor will persevere. The conversation does not end with divorce. After divorce, there is life.

Pastors also shed tears. Pastors are superstars who are also people. Pastors are not exempt from dealing with life’s problems. Pastors experience life, too. Pastors have deep-seated anxieties and pains hidden beneath their opulent lifestyles. Bishop Benson Idahosa passed away. Prophet TB Joshua passed away. Miscreants killed Bishop Anayo Ilupotaife.

Formerly well-known pastor Ngozi Anwuzia of the Zoe Ministry is confined to a bed. Many pastors are dealing with issues. Even for pastors, it is not simple.
