Gbenga Raheem, The husband of the late Bolanle Raheem, had narrated how his wife died.

According to the late legal practitioner’s husband, Bolanle died after being shot and killed by Drambi Vandi, an assistant superintendent of police, on Christmas day in Ajah.

Bolanle, who was reportedly pregnant, passed away unexpectedly, according to Gbenga Raheem, who was in the car with his wife at the time of the incident.

Bolanle, 41, was taken emergency care and pronounced dead there.

According to reports, Vandi, a 33-year veteran of the police force assigned to the Ajiwe Police Station in Ajah, Lagos State, fired the fatal shot without provocation.

“On December 25, my wife, our visiting nieces, nephews, and cousins went to church together.

My wife suggested that we take everyone out since it was Christmas Day on the way home, so we stopped at a supermarket in Abraham Adesanya before going to Domino’s Pizza.

“After that, we moved in the direction of Ajah before making a U-turn to return to Abraham Adesanya.

We observed police officers stopping some vehicles as we made the U-turn. They told us to stop as we got close to them, and as we did, my wife’s side window made a loud noise. I suddenly noticed blood pouring out of her chest.

My sister-in-law, who was with us, also immediately ran outside and grabbed the policeman; he cocked his gun at her as well.

Since talking to him was ineffective, I went to see if anything could be done. While there, my sister-in-law had already brought the policeman into the car and seated him in the front seat when I noticed my wife struggling to breathe.

“We took her to a hospital, but they said they could not handle it; finally, we took her to Grandville Hospital, where it was determined that she had passed away.

Police officers took her body and placed it in a truck; they wanted me to follow them, but I declined and said I had to go settle my kids first.
