During the roll call conducted by the Clerk of the Senate, Barr Chinedu Akabueze, the names of the Senators-elect were announced.
Senator Godwill Akpabio was put forward as a candidate for the role of Senate President, with his nomination made by Senator Ali Ndume. Similarly, Senator Aziz Yari was nominated by Senator Ishiaku Abbo for the position of Senate President.
