Appeal Court Sacks Abacha As Kano PDP Governorship Candidate
Kano’s Appeal Court has removed Mohammed Abacha as the Peoples Democratic Party’s candidate for governor in Kano.

On Friday, the court overturned a High Court’s ruling that recognized Abacha as the state’s PDP candidate.
In addition, the court ruled that Sadiq Wali, who was previously recognized by the Independent National Electoral Commission, remains the legitimate candidate.

Since Abachi did not participate in the primary election that produced Wali, the three-member panel led by Justice Usman Musale and delivering an anonymous decision determined that Abachi lacked standing to challenge the primary that produced Wali.
