Appeal Court Upholds Judgment Sacking All PDP Candidates In Zamfara
The decision on the appeal that was brought by the Zamfara State chapter of the People’s Democratic party (PDP) and its candidate, Dauda Lawal Dare, was handed down on November 23 by the Court of Appeal Sokoto, Division.
This information was provided in a statement that was signed by the State Commissioner of Information, Hon. Ibrahim Magaji Dosara, and distributed to members of the press in Gusau, the capital of the state.

According to the statement, the appeal was lodged against the judgement that had been handed down by the Federal High Court in Gusau on September 16, 2022. This judgement had declared that the party’s governorship primary election had been invalidated because it had not complied with the provisions of the Electoral Act 2022 as well as the PDP guidelines for the conduct of primary elections.
“Justice M. L. Shuaibu JCA, the Presiding Justice of the Court of Appeal Sokoto Division, who delivered the Judgment, stated that the appeal is an academic exercise in a decision that was reached unanimously by all three Justices of the Court of Appeal.

According to the further information included in the statement, “the appeal was, as a result, dismissed with a cost of 100,000.00 against the appellants.”
