Borno State Finance Commissioner, Ahmed Ali Ahmed, Found Dead in Maiduguri Home
Borno State Commissioner of Finance, Ahmed Ali Ahmed, was found dead on Monday at his residence on Damboa Road in Maiduguri, the state capital.
Sources revealed that concern arose when Ahmed failed to wake up at his usual time, prompting others to force open his room door, where they discovered his lifeless body.
The state’s Commissioner of Information and Internal Security, Usman Tar, confirmed Ahmed’s passing in a statement, noting that the burial would be held later that same day according to Islamic rites.
Ahmed, who was appointed as Finance Commissioner on August 10, 2024, had previously served as the Zonal Manager of Zenith Bank in Maiduguri.
This marks the third loss in Governor Babagana Zulum’s cabinet since his second term began in May 2023, following the deaths of two other commissioners and a special adviser.

According to the statement, “His burial is scheduled for 5 pm on Monday, August 26, 2024, at his family residence on Damboa Road, behind the Indimi residence in Maiduguri.
