Commodore Dan Suleiman: Former Nigerian governor dies at 81
Commodore Dan Suleiman, a former military governor of Plateau State and member of General Murtala Mohammed’s Supreme Military Council, has passed away.
The deceased was also one of the founding members of the National Democratic Coalition, (NADECO).

This online newspaper gathered that the former military governor died on Wednesday. He was 81.
Late Suleiman served as federal commissioner for Special Duties in the government of General Yakubu Gowon and is credited with playing a pivotal role in the establishment of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).

The Secretary of NADECO, Ayo Opadokun, sent a statement to this online newspaper announcing Suleiman’s passing.
Opadokun stated that Bitrus Porgu, the president of the Middle Belt Forum (MBF), informed him of Suleiman’s passing.

In his statement, Opadokun described the late Suleiman as “consistently courageous, nationalistic, and truly patriotic, whose life and times were filled with good deeds and services to God and humanity.”
The deceased was a former Nigerian ambassador to Russia and People’s Democratic Party member (PDP).
