Unknown Gunmen Attack Edo Train Station, kidnapped Many Passengers

A train station in Igueben, located in Edo State, was attacked by individuals suspected of being armed with firearms. As a result, an unknown number of passengers have been kidnapped.

It has been confirmed by the Edo state police command that a group of gunmen armed with AK-47 rifles stormed the train station at approximately 4 p.m. on Saturday, January 7th.

The gunmen shot erratically and kidnapped an unknown number of passengers who were waiting to board the train to Warri.

According to the Edo state police Command, the Area Commander Irrua, the DPO of Igueben Division, and other men of the police have visited the scene of the crime along with members of the Edo State Security Network, local vigilantes, and hunters in order to protect the lives and property of the remaining passengers.

This was done with the intention of ensuring the safety of the remaining passengers.

According to the police, operations known as “bush combing” have begun in an effort to rescue the victims and apprehend the kidnappers who are currently on the run.
