Chris Ohizu: Gunmen behead Imo LG chairman after collecting ransom
Chris Ohizu, the local government chairman of Imo State’s Ideato North Local Government Area, has been beheaded.
The council chief was killed on Sunday after his kidnappers allegedly demanded N6 million in ransom, according to reports.

On Sunday, a video of his beheading appeared online, with his killers adamant that there would be no election in the nation.
An anonymous LGA source revealed that the killers of the chairman used their victim’s phone to upload videos of the beheading to his WhatsApp status.
The sole administrator has been beheaded, according to the source. On Sunday, we watched videos of him being beheaded.

On his personal WhatsApp status, his killers posted it using his phone. That is how word spread that he had been beheaded.
“The videos were awful. Before being beheaded, he was tied and only partially clothed, after receiving a ransom payment of N6 million, they butchered him.
Henry Okoye, a spokesman for the state’s police, confirmed the incident when contacted and merely stated “investigation is ongoing.”

After setting fire to his country home in Imoko Community in the Arondizuogu area of the LGA, the assassinated sole administrator was taken hostage on Friday along with two others.
Before being removed, he was shot.
