Gunmen Kidnap Rivers State Accord Assembly Candidate, Chukwudi Ogbonna

Chukwudi Ogbonna, the Accord Party candidate for the Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni sin Local Government Area Constituency 2 in the Rivers State House of Assembly election on March 18, has been kidnapped.

On Monday night, Mr. Ogbonna was reportedly kidnapped while driving in his car at Rumuigbo, near Port Harcourt, by gunmen who forced him to stop and whisked away his vehicle.

Ifeaka Nwakiri, the cousin brother of the candidate, confirmed the incident to our reporter on Tuesday morning, stating, “They took him in his Mercedes. We have filed a report with the Kala Police Department.”

Meanwhile, the central Bank of Nigeria CBN have finally ordered banks to collect old 500, 1000.

This comes days after the supreme court ordered that the old notes should remain legal tenders until December 31st, 2022.
