Reports indicate that some of the president’s companions aboard the helicopter managed to communicate with Central Headquarters, suggesting the possibility that the incident may not have resulted in casualties. However, the exact status of President Raisi and the helicopter remains unclear.
The helicopter was part of a convoy of three helicopters. The other two helicopters, carrying ministers and officials, successfully reached their destination, as confirmed by Tasnim.
Among those reportedly on the helicopter with President Raisi were Seyyed Mohammad-Ali Al-Hashem, Tabriz’s Friday Prayer Imam, and Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian, Tasnim shared on X.
Ejes Gist News reports that the helicopter experienced a “hard landing” near Jolfa, a city on the border with Azerbaijan, approximately 600 kilometers northwest of Tehran.
