Herdsmen Attack another Benue Community less than a week after former attack that left many dead

Tse Ikyem, a community in the Logo Local Government Area of Benue State, came under attack not even a week after suspected herders killed approximately 39 people in the Gbeji community in the Ukum LGA of Benue State. They were responsible for the deaths of several people in Tse Ikyem.

It was determined that the surrounding herders attacked the village at approximately 4 of the clock on Sunday afternoon.

This online newspaper gathered that the deceased were; a man named Solomon Ukoom, a woman named Eunice Kpei, and a man named Mfeseer Iorbume.

Joseph Anawah, a prominent member of the local community, was quoted as saying, “On October 29, 2022, around 4 of the clock in the afternoon, armed herdsmen attacked and murdered Mr. Solomon Ukoom, Mrs. Eunice Torkwase Joe Kpei, and Mr. Mfeseer Iorbume.” Many people suffered wounds.

The assault took place at Tse Ikyem, which is located around the Anawah settlement. This is the same location that saw the slaying of two people on Sunday, October 23, 2022.

SP Catherine Anene, who serves as the spokesman for the state police headquarters, has confirmed the occurrence.
