The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has officially appointed German tactician Bruno Labbadia as the new head coach of the Super Eagles, effective immediately.
NFF Secretary General Mohammed Sanusi announced the appointment early Tuesday morning through a tweet on the NFF’s X handle.

The statement read: “The Nigeria Football Federation has announced that it has reached an agreement with German tactician, Bruno Labbadia, to become the Head Coach of Nigeria’s senior men’s national team, Super Eagles.

“The NFF Executive Committee has approved the recommendation of its Technical and Development sub-committee to appoint Mr. Bruno Labbadia as the Head Coach of the Super Eagles.

Labbadia, who is the 37th head coach of the Super Eagles, succeeds Finidi George following his resignation.
In his new role, Labbadia will lead the Super Eagles in their upcoming matches, including the 2025 African Cup of Nations qualifiers. The Nigerian team is scheduled to play a home game against Benin Republic on September 7 at the Nest of Champions in Uyo, followed by an away match in Rwanda three days later.
The Super Eagles camp is expected to open on September 1 in Uyo.
