The latest political news now in Nigeria is that the Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang has firmly denied rumors circulating on social media that he is planning to leave the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The governor reaffirmed his loyalty to the PDP and labeled the rumors as baseless and false.
In a statement issued by his Director of Press and Public Affairs, Dr. Gyang Bere, Governor Mutfwang dismissed the claims, stating that the allegations were a deliberate attempt by mischief-makers to create divisions between him and the PDP leadership.

The rumors, which were amplified through a social media post featuring a fabricated electronic banner of Mutfwang allegedly defecting to the APC, were described as misleading. According to Bere, the false banner was said to have been displayed in Edo State, but it held no truth.
“The notion that Governor Mutfwang has considered leaving the PDP for the APC is entirely false,” the statement read. “He has never discussed switching political parties with anyone.

Mutfwang emphasized that the false rumors were orchestrated by individuals seeking to tarnish his reputation and create discord between him and his supporters in Plateau State.
The governor urged the public to disregard the rumors, calling them a political ploy aimed at undermining his credibility.
