BREAKING: Peter Obi supporters under attack in Lagos (VIDEO)
Peter Obi’s supporters in Lagos State have reportedly been attacked by suspected political thugs.
The development follows the Obi/Datti mega rally currently taking place at Tafawa Belewa Square, TBS, Lagos.
A video obtained by our correspondent shows supporters of Peter Obi lamenting how they were attacked by thugs in the Jakande, Lekki neighbourhood.
According to the victims, the suspects cut them with machetes, destroyed their vehicle, and stole their phones and other belongings because they were wearing clothing with the LP logo.
In a conversation with Ejes Gist News, Dr. Aliyu Tanko, a spokesperson for the LP presidential campaign council, confirmed the news.
He stated, “The ObiDent Movement is under attack in Lagos; our people are prevented from attending the TBS rally.”
“A movement whose time has come cannot be stopped by anything. Security personnel should take note. We proceed with certainty and success.”
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the unfortunate incident to newsmen.
“I don’t know if they’re Labour Party or APC members, but I can confirm that some individuals attacked others, and the DPO in that region is already investigating,” he said.
When asked if any lives were lost during the incident, the PPRO stated that he has yet to receive details about the attack.
This happened just now, the 11th day of February, 2023 at Jakande, Lekki. APC thugs attacked this guy's and took there phones because they wore OBI DATTI clothes. Why are we like this?
