Breaking: Police arrest House of Reps Majority Leader

The Nigerian police have arrested the Majority Leader of the House of Representatives Alhassan Ado Doguwa for allegedly burning 13 people alive and shooting three others to death in Tudunwada Local Government Area of Kano State on Sunday.

Alhassan Ado Doguwa was apprehended while boarding a flight to Abuja at the Aminu Kano International Airport for his alleged role in the killing of several people and the burning of the New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP, secretariat during the recently concluded presidential elections.

He was also accused of firing his orderly pistol at several people.

Doguwa, who allegedly led the thugs who set fire to the NNPP secretariat, killing at least two people, is currently being held in the state Criminal Investigation Department.

 

 

The state police confirmed the incident, stating that three people were killed when the NNPP campaign secretariat in Kano state’s Tudunwada area was set on fire. While two people were burned to death during the collation of the results of the House of Representatives election, which Dogunwa was declared the winner.

Earlier, prior to his arrest, Alhassan Ado Doguwa denied his involvement and stated that he had not yet received a formal invitation from the police.

“I’ve never held a gun,” Dogunwa said. I’m not even sure how to hold a gun. I also never carried a weapon during the election.
