Popular Nollywood actor Otunba Ayobami Olabiyi, widely known as Bobo B, has passed away. He reportedly died in Ibadan, Oyo State, after a brief illness.

Olabiyi was the former governor of the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN) in Oyo State and currently served as its national secretary. According to reports, he was unable to attend a movie set in Oyo last month due to his deteriorating health.

He was admitted to the University College Hospital (UCH) in Ibadan, where he ultimately passed away.

Bose Akinola, the governor of TAMPAN in Oyo State, announced his death in a statement: “I have a directive from the Oyo State TAMPAN governor, Her Excellency Yeye Bose Akinola, to announce the death of our TAMPAN national general secretary, Chief Alhaji Musadshir Ayobami Olabiyi, ‘Bobo B.’ May God grant his family and the entire TAMPAN members globally the fortitude to bear the loss. Insha Allah, Amen.”

Colleagues have expressed their shock and grief at Olabiyi’s passing. Abidemi Temitayo reminisced about a memorable experience with him on set, saying, “I remembered what happened vividly the night I took that second slide with you after shooting… that same jovial man is no longer here. Hearing about your death is so shocking.”

Princess Adenike Ajoke added, “May your gentle soul rest in perfect peace, TAMPAN national general secretary, Chief Alhaji Mudashir Ayobami Olabiyi ‘Bobo B.’ May God give his family and the entire TAMPAN members globally the fortitude to bear the loss, Insha Allah, Amen.”

The Nollywood industry has lost a talented and beloved figure, and tributes continue to pour in from colleagues and fans alike.
