The National Judicial Council recently put forward Justice Kekere-Ekun as the successor to Justice Olukayode Ariwoola. Justice Ariwoola is anticipated to officially step down today, clearing the path for his successor.
Justice Kekere-Ekun, who has been a Justice of the Supreme Court since 2013, began her judicial career in the Lagos State Judiciary as a Senior Magistrate II. Her rise through the ranks saw her serve as a State High Court Judge and later as the Chairman of the Robbery and Firearms Tribunal in Ikeja from 1996 to 1999. Her judicial journey continued with an appointment to the Nigerian Courts of Appeal in 2004.
