Edo Train Attack: The government of Edo State has made public an announcement that six people who had been kidnapped during an assault on a train station in the state have been rescued.
In a statement released on Monday, the Edo state government shared the news about the latest development.

There was a man who was 65 years old, a nursing mother who was rescued along with her baby, a girl who was six years old, and two sets of siblings who were two and five years old, respectively. All of these people were rescued.
Recall that Edo State, was attacked by individuals suspected of being armed with firearms. As a result, an unknown number of passengers have been kidnapped.
It has been confirmed by the Edo state police command that a group of gunmen armed with AK-47 rifles stormed the train station at approximately 4 p.m. on Saturday, January 7th.

The gunmen shot erratically and kidnapped an unknown number of passengers who were waiting to board the train to Warri.
According to the Edo state police Command, the Area Commander Irrua, the DPO of Igueben Division, and other men of the police have visited the scene of the crime along with members of the Edo State Security Network, local vigilantes, and hunters in order to protect the lives and property of the remaining passengers.

This was done with the intention of ensuring the safety of the remaining passengers.
According to the police, operations known as “bush combing” have begun in an effort to rescue the victims and apprehend the kidnappers who are currently on the run.
