The RMAFC Chairman, Mohammed Bello Shehu, confirmed the allegations and stated that the identified individuals had been placed on suspension pending further investigation.
The implicated workers were found to have manipulated the IPPIS system to artificially inflate their salaries beyond the designated thresholds.
One of the Assistant Directors at the OAGF, responsible for managing staff salaries, was accused of colluding with some employees to inflate the salaries of lower-level staff members. The scheme came to light when a level 7 officer, whose salary should have been around N60,000, received over N400,000, equivalent to the salary package of a Director.

Responding to the situation, the OAGF released a statement acknowledging the alleged “salary padding” on the IPPIS involving unspecified MDAs. They have suspended a staff member suspected of involvement to facilitate a thorough investigation. The OAGF is implementing necessary measures to enhance controls over the IPPIS payment platform, and an independent forensic audit of the entire payroll system is underway to determine the extent of the breach.
