President Bola Tinubu has suspended AbdulRasheed Bawa, the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The suspension, as stated in a press release by Willie Basse, the Director of Information in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), has been enacted to facilitate a thorough investigation into Bawa’s conduct during his tenure.

On June 6, 2023, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Godwin Emefiele, was suspended by President Tinubu. Subsequently, on June 7, 2023, Emefiele was arrested by the Department of State Services (DSS).
