He urged anyone who might have evidence against him or who might have given the organization money through him to come forward and reveal it to the public.
In order to allow for a thorough investigation, Adeniran stated that he had resigned from the IOOW. He urged Yoruba elders to form a committee in this regard.
He said, “I want to use this medium to resign as Chairman of Ilana Omo Oodua Worldwide, as a member of Ilana Omo Oodua Worldwide, and as a participant in the Yoruba Nation struggle so that all of these allegations can be thoroughly investigated.”

“Because in all developed regions of the world, what they typically do is that, if there is an allegation against a public office holder, he affected person will step aside to allow thorough investigation, that is what I’m doing right now.
“I thank all of you, and whatever the investigation reveals should be made public. Nothing should be kept secret there. Because everyone in Yoruba needs to know the truth about the fraud allegation involving the struggle, they should make the investigation’s findings public. Then Adeniran said, “Thank you.
The group’s Chairman and immediate past leader, Banji Akintoye, also announced his withdrawal, saying through Maxwell Adeleye: “In view of recent developments in the group, I wish to inform all the Yoruba people worldwide that I have stepped aside and withdrawn from the agitation for an Independent Yoruba nation under its current leadership with effect from January 6, 2023.”
Please be advised that as of August 5, 2022, I resigned as Professor Banji Akintoye’s communications manager, and as of October 31, 2022, I finally stopped communicating with the historian. Additionally, Ilana Omo Oodua Worldwide has lost my membership, he added.
