Chidimma Adetshina Crowned Miss Universe Nigeria 2024.
Lagos, Nigeria — Chidimma Adetshina, a 23-year-old model and law student, has been crowned Miss Universe Nigeria 2024. Adetshina’s victory comes after a dramatic turn of events that saw her withdraw from the Miss South Africa 2024 pageant due to xenophobic backlash over her nationality.
The grand finale of the Miss Universe Nigeria 2024 pageant took place on Saturday night at the Ekp Hotels & Suites in Lagos, where Adetshina emerged as the winner among 25 contestants. Representing Taraba State, she captivated both the judges and the audience with her poise, intelligence, and grace.
The competition, organized by the Silverbird Group, was keenly contested, but Adetshina’s journey to the crown was particularly noteworthy. Her withdrawal from the Miss South Africa pageant had sparked significant controversy, but it also led to her return to Nigeria, where she decided to compete in the Miss Universe Nigeria pageant.
Guy Murray-Bruce, President of Silverbird Group, announced Adetshina as the winner, commending her resilience and determination. “Chidimma Adetshina represents the strength and beauty of Nigeria, and we are proud to have her as our Miss Universe Nigeria 2024,” he said.

Adetshina’s victory is seen as a triumph not only for her but also for Nigeria, as she prepares to take the global stage later this year.
