Don’t threaten Nigeria’s integrity – COAS warns IPOB, ESN
The Indigenous People of Biafra, the Eastern Security Network, and other separatist groups have been warned against endangering Nigeria’s territorial integrity.
The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya, has warned IPOB, ESN, and any other group or individual that they do not have the constitutional authority to threaten Nigeria’s sovereignty.

Yesterday, Yahaya issued the warning at an Army event in Abuja.
He stated, “Let me state here that, elections or no elections, neither IPOB, ESN, nor any other group or individual should threaten the integrity of this nation as stipulated in the Nigerian Constitution.
“I must commend you all for your adherence to all guidelines and implementation of decisions made at the Annual Conference last year, as evidenced by our professional conduct and apolitical disposition during the recently concluded general elections.”

The Chief of Army Staff was also pleased with the commendations the troops received from various groups following the general elections of 2023.
IPOB and ESN have advocated for the dissolution of Nigeria and, by extension, the establishment of Biafra.
The group’s agitation was based on the alleged marginalisation of the Southeast by the government of Nigeria.
