The directive was given on Thursday by the presiding judge, Nelson Ogbuanya.
The judge further prohibited the NLC, TUC, or any of its affiliates “from stopping, hindering, disrupting, or interfering in any manner whatsoever with the provision of services and other work by their members in the civil and public service in Imo” while the motion on notice for an interlocutory injunction filed by the state government was being heard and decided.
The court also mandated that the defendants be served with the originating summons, notice motions, and other papers, including the restraining order.
The judge issued an order for substitute service through any national newspaper in the event that service cannot be completed promptly.

Due to the state’s Monday celebration of Workers’ Day being disrupted, organized labor in Imo had declared an industrial strike.
Workers in the state, according to Philip Nwansi, chairman of the NLC in Imo, won’t participate in the strike called by the congress’ national leadership.
He argued that there was no need for a strike because there is “a robust industrial harmony” between employees and the state government.
