Rivers State House of Assembly Confirms Dagogo Israel Iboroma as the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice.
The Rivers State House of Assembly has confirmed Danagogo Iboroma (SAN) as a member of the state executive council, replacing Professor Zaccheus Adangor, who recently resigned as Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice. Iboroma’s confirmation came after a screening session on Monday, May 13, where he pledged to uphold the rule of law and serve the state diligently.
Rivers Governor Fubara Announces Probe into Predecessor Wike’s Govt
The session marked the first legislative gathering since the election of new principal officers, with Speaker Victor Oko-Jumbo, backed by lawmakers supporting Governor Fubara, presiding over the event. Principal officers and former members of the Rivers State House of Assembly were also in attendance.
Before the screening, Speaker Oko-Jumbo commended Governor Siminalayi Fubara for providing a temporary chamber in the government house auditorium, following the recent fire that damaged the main complex of the state assembly.

The leader, Sokari Goodboy, then moved a motion to adopt the auditorium as the new chamber, allowing the speaker to read Governor Fubara’s request for Iboroma’s screening and confirmation as a commissioner in his cabinet.
With the matter concluded, the Assembly adjourned sitting until Thursday, following a motion moved by the leader. Iboroma, 60, is expected to bring his wealth of experience to the executive council, serving the state in his new role.
