Davido deletes music video after Muslims kick.
Nigerian music sensation, David Adeleke, widely known as Davido, has taken a decisive step by removing the controversial music video of his artist, Logos Olori, following a barrage of criticism on social media.
The uproar ensued on Saturday when Davido shared a 45-second trailer of Logos Olori’s upcoming music video on Twitter. Many Muslims voiced their objections, considering the video offensive due to its depiction of a group of men seemingly engaged in a Muslim prayer session, which quickly transitions into a dance and song routine.

Critics accused Adeleke of disrespecting Islam by intertwining religious rites with entertainment, urging him to take down the video and offer an apology. Prominent Nigerian celebrities, including Bashir Ahmad and Ali Nuhu, expressed their concerns about the video’s content.
Bashir Ahmad, a former aide to President Muhammadu Buhari, tweeted about the matter, emphasizing the sacred nature of Salah (prayer) in Islam and urging respect for religious beliefs.
Ali Nuhu, a renowned Kannywood star, also shared his disappointment through his verified Instagram account, appealing for artists to be more sensitive to other people’s religion, culture, and traditions.
Even Shehu Sani, a former lawmaker, weighed in on the issue, advising Davido to consider his fans’ sentiments and remove or edit any content that may offend their culture or religious beliefs.

Despite initial silence and no formal apology from Davido, the pressure mounted on him to address the situation. Finally, after two days of intense backlash, Davido chose to delete the video in response to the public outcry.
This decision came as a relief to those who felt hurt or disrespected by the video, and it indicates a willingness on Davido’s part to acknowledge and respond to his fans’ concerns.
As the incident unfolded, it serves as a reminder of the importance of cultural and religious sensitivity in creative expressions. Artists and entertainers should be mindful of the impact their work may have on various audiences, and open dialogue and understanding are crucial in maintaining a harmonious and respectful society.
Upon verification on Monday morning, Davido’s social media accounts showed that the contentious video was no longer available, reflecting the artist’s acknowledgment of the situation and his willingness to move forward.
