Addressing traditional rulers at the State Traditional Rulers’ Council Secretariat in Asaba, Oborevwori condemned the attack on the military personnel as barbaric, inhumane, and utterly unacceptable.
He revealed that both the Chief of Army Staff and the President had assured him that innocent civilians would not be unjustly targeted, except for those found to have colluded with the perpetrators of the crime.
Reiterating that such violence is alien to the state, the Governor underscored Delta’s commitment to upholding the rule of law and principles of human decency.
He recounted previous efforts to foster peace in the affected communities and lamented the sudden eruption of violence, urging cooperation from traditional leaders in rooting out the perpetrators.
Chairman of the Delta State Traditional Rulers Council, HRM Maj. Gen. Felix Mujakperuo (retd), echoed the Governor’s sentiments, affirming their collective dedication to restoring and maintaining peace and security across the state.
