In his opening remarks, the Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammadu Sa’adu Abubakar III, who led his counterparts to the meeting, stated that the traditional rulers congratulated the President and assured him of their support in his difficult task of nation-building.
The Sultan reasoned that the council of traditional rulers is filled with experts in a variety of fields, making it a useful resource from which the President can draw expertise.
